Joan, her husband John, and feline friends Harley and Lucy, have made Saturna Island their permanent residence since 1996. Both are active members of the community.
 

Joan has been a realtor on Saturna since 1999 and Broker/Owner of Saturna Island Realty since 2001. Her education includes advanced degrees in computer science and mathematics.
